YOU DECIDE!!!
Alright, I'm thinking about that narcolepsy thing again. I'm just really tired all the time. And I read somewhere that narcolepsy does not necessarily mean falling asleep randomly, it just means you are somehow incapable of getting a normal night's sleep. So I want your opinion: do I have narcolepsy?
Common symptoms of narcolepsy:
- The falling asleep randomly thing (into your lunch, while talking to someone, etc)
- Sleep paralysis (becoming paralyzed upon waking up or falling asleep)
- EDS (excessive daytime sleepiness)
- Cataplexy (random paralysis or weak muscles, mostly while experiencing strong emotions)
- Disrupted nighttime sleep
My Symptoms:
- Sleep paralysis upon waking up (condition confirmed by doctor)
- Minor cataplexy (condition confirmed by doctor)
- Excessive daytime sleepiness
- Disrupted nighttime sleep
One person in a forum who was diagnosed with narcolepsy has that falling asleep randomly thing but can hold it off until she can find a place to sit or lie down. So she won't fall asleep into her soup or while talking to someone, but she has a really strong urge to take a nap...I think I qualify for that condition to some degree.
So, according to you, my fellow LJ friends, does Shippou (according to mel and brickhouse, sleepou...grr) have narcolepsy? :(
